Email subscriptions
GTR maintains a private subscriber register containing email address, optional name, subscription status, joining date, source, email preferences and records of consent and subsequent changes. We use these records to deliver editions, normally fortnightly, and occasional editorial updates, and to honour opt-outs.
The website and register are hosted through Sites on Cloudflare infrastructure. Kit remains our current email delivery and signup service. The GTR signup page uses our existing Kit form. Kit sends confirmation emails. GTR securely reconciles subscription status from Kit, including confirmations, unsubscribes and delivery blocks. Changes may take time to appear in the register; authorised administrators can refresh it before a mailing. Reading an edition, following GTR on LinkedIn or commenting does not create an email subscription.
Your email must be confirmed before a new subscription becomes active. Private website management emails through Resend remain disabled unless that separate service is configured; meanwhile, use the unsubscribe link in any GTR email or contact GTR for help. These service providers process the information needed to operate their services; GTR staff with authorised access manage the register. Subscriber information is not published or sold.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe using the link in a GTR email. Website management links are private and expire; do not share them. Contact GTR if you need help. We keep minimal opt-out records to avoid subscribing you again by mistake. Other subscriber information is kept while needed for the readership service or resolving a request; contact us to request removal.
Backups and exports contain personal information and are restricted to authorised staff. Deletion requests should also be reflected in retained backups and connected delivery services.
Conversations and technical safeguards
Your reader identity for GTR Voices is separate from email subscription. Your email stays private; your display name and approved contributions are public. Unsubscribing does not automatically remove a published contribution.
The website uses cookies to recognise registered readers and reactions. To limit abuse, we temporarily store a salted fingerprint derived from the requesting network address, rather than the raw address, for subscription request limits. Hosting and email providers may keep their own service logs.
